Linus' Slumber

There’s no doubt that Linus is the single most popular photo subject around here lately. I’m still working toward taking an artistic photo jaunt sometime soon, but for now I’m perfectly content to aim the lens at this little guy. Can I be blamed?

I just uploaded a backlogged group of photos of him to Flickr. Check out the Linus collection if you want to see about a kajillion (60) new photos. There are new sets for Easter, Bath Tyme, and ExcerSaucer, as well as some additions to the Misc. set.

I can hear again!

April 23, 2007

Ever since Linus was born I’ve been in strange mood (stranger than usual) where I just couldn’t hear music any more. That is to say, I was not interested in listening to music much. I’m not really sure why; I guess I’ve been struggling with a media overload of sorts for a while now. I’ve also been on a movie hiatus since October (more on that later).

Suffice to say that I’m finally in a state of mind where I’m able to enjoy music again (been there for a couple weeks now actually). The Books show last week was a nice way to bring it all full circle, and I’ve finally charged my iPod up again.

Here’s what’s currently floating my boat. Some of these are new, some simply deserved revisiting. In no particular order:

Eerie Entry

This is footage shot from one of the Space Shuttle’s solid rocket boosters as it makes its descent from space back to the Atlantic. I’ve seen a lot of footage like this over the years, but this is unique not only because of the quality but also the fact that it includes audio. If you can, turn off the lights, turn up your speakers and take this five minute ride.

Booked

April 18, 2007

The Books were amazing. I have to agree with Rubens; this was one of the best shows I’ve seen in recent memory. It was another one of those shows for which I was completely sitting on the fence, and in the end I’m so glad that I went. I liked these guys before the show; now I absolutely love them.

Kudos to Luke for turning me on to these guys (sorry I resisted). I picked up a little sumpin’ for you at the show. You should have it within six to eight months. Thanks to Rubens too for convincing me to come out of my lair and walk among the living for a few hours.

I put a few more shots up on Flickr as well.
