Movie Night at the Ghenov’s

June 30, 2006

The movie was The Passenger. Cinematography was amazing, but the plot was a no-show. Next time we go with Jill’s suggestion.

New Shizzle

I updated the site colors as well as the header image to match my new bag. If you don’t see it just refresh your browser. If you still don’t see it, then you should probably stab your computer.

Waiting to Paint

June 26, 2006

There is a room in our house that is full of boxes which have remained untouched since we moved in two years ago. Most of these boxes contain toys and random junk that we just haven’t had time to deal with yet. However, from all this flotsam and jetsam I recently rescued my art supplies (a small portion of which is shown below). This may seem insignificant but if you take into account that fact that I’ve been on an art hiatus for the past two years then it becomes quite exciting. In the time since we moved into the house the bulk of my painting has been done on walls. House renovations has left little time (or desire) to do anything creative, so it’s good to finally see this stuff in the light of day again. Hopefully I’ll be able to start something when we return from Michigan. My recent safari into “box room” was also fortuitous in that I rediscovered my old shrimp gun. Surely shrimp gun will prove to be an indispensable asset this Summer.

Shredder

June 21, 2006

Here are some photos of one of our interns shreddin’ it up in our parking lot on a recent Friday afternoon. I imagine he was getting prepped for an A1 thrash session at Love Park over the weekend. Apparently this guy has been spotted Gleaming the Cube on more than one occassion. Judging from his professional gear I’d say he’s been at this for a while. Clearly he’s a natural.

LightBox JS

June 21, 2006

I just installed Lightbox JS 2.0 in hopes of a more seamless image viewing experience. Now when you click on an image, you’ll get an overlay with the full-res version rather than bouncing out of the site on a static image link. While viewing images in a set (see my next post) you can use the P and N keys to see the previous and next images. You can also roll over the image and use the buttons. Hit X to close the image or use the button. To order a Mountain Dew you can just step into a Taco Bell and use your gift of oratory.

Enough

June 14, 2006

I got rid of all the custom comment code. I’m tweaking the template for the site and those comments have always bothered me. There were some problems with the page refresh, and I often get two notifications for each comment posted to the site. It’s enough to make a grown man cry. The commments link will now take you to the item page as it always did, and if you post a comment you’ll get the standard Blogger pop-up. It’s like swallowing a vitamin sideways!
